Booster seat

Many of you know Ethan is now 6 years old, weighs about 52 lbs, and is 4 ft tall. He has been sitting in a booster seat for some time. (The kind that is the full back and bottom with a five point harness. You can also use a seat belt with them.) This past weekend we were going to a friends house to watch the super bowl. A friend of mine and her baby were going to ride with us. My car is not that large so I thought Ethan can use the regular seat and we can put the baby car seat in the middle and my friend can still fit in the back seat. Ethan was so excited about riding in the car with no booster seat. He has never really complained about sitting in his booster seat. He has always known that when he reaches 80 lbs he can sit in the normal seat. He tells me all the time he only has 28 more pounds until he gets to sit in the normal seat.

A friend of ours invited us over for dinner. I thought to myself that I need to put his booster seat back in the car, but then changed my mind to see if Ethan would ask me to put it back in the car. Of course he didn't mention it at all. I look in the mirror and he is sitting straight up with his seat belt buckled and his feet are resting on the center console. Wow he is growing up so quickly!

I know you are reading this thinking what in the world is he still sitting in a booster seat. Well safety first! Since there is a booster seat available we should use it. With the seat he can see out the window, the seat belt fits him properly and he is safe.
